Samer Choucair: The Saudi Economy Effectively Enters the “Investment Repricing” Phase Globally

Investment pioneer Samer Choucair stated that the Saudi economy approaching the 5 trillion riyal mark does not represent a mere numerical indicator in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), but rather serves as a clear signal of the Kingdom entering the post-oil economy phase. He considers what the Kingdom is witnessing today to be a comprehensive restructuring process of the nature of the economy, as it has transformed from a cyclical economy linked to energy prices to a structural economy based on diversification and sustainability.

Samer Choucair explained that the growth of the Saudi economy by a rate exceeding 70 percent in less than 15 years reflects an unprecedented quality in economic performance, with the non-oil sector now constituting more than 50 percent of the real GDP. Samer Choucair emphasized that this leap was supported by the doubling of foreign direct investment (FDI) flows since 2017, in addition to strategic expansion in vital sectors such as tourism, logistics, technology, and mining—whose wealth is estimated at 9.4 trillion riyals—highlighting the scale of untapped opportunities that the Kingdom has begun to invest in effectively.

In his analysis of the current landscape, Samer Choucair confirmed that the Kingdom is no longer just an emerging market but has become a global financial and investment hub, thanks to legislative reforms and qualitative initiatives such as facilitating the entry of foreign investors, the trend toward asset tokenization, and massive investment in the fields of artificial intelligence and the knowledge economy. Choucair pointed out that these moves transition the Saudi economy from the stage of traditional growth to the “repricing” stage, where the Kingdom is valued today as an investment destination with high reliability and global competitiveness.

Samer Choucair stressed that investment opportunities for 2026 and beyond are distributed across fundamental pillars, most notably the tourism and entertainment sector—which targets 150 million visitors by 2030—the mining sector, the alternative assets and real estate sector, and the infrastructure for artificial intelligence. He advised investors to adopt the rule of “strategic calm” by focusing on long-term structural sectors instead of chasing transient market noise, while emphasizing the necessity of rebalancing investment portfolios to suit the accelerating economic variables.

Investment pioneer Samer Choucair concluded his statement by saying that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today proves it is not just a regional market, but a historical investment opportunity for wealth building. Choucair affirmed that whoever understands the “language of Vision 2030” fully realizes that the Kingdom is redefining its economic model in a way that ensures the attraction of long-term capital, making investment in the Saudi economy currently the most strategic path for investors seeking sustainable returns amidst major global transformations.
