Samer Choucair: “Strategic Giving” is the New Driver for Financial Sustainability and Wealth Development Under Vision 2030

Samer Choucair: “Strategic Giving” is the New Driver for Financial Sustainability and Wealth Development Under Vision 2030

Investment pioneer Samer Choucair confirmed that charitable giving, in its modern sense, is no longer just a noble humanitarian act, but has transformed into a “strategic investment tool” that contributes to building social capital and enhancing long-term economic sustainability. He noted that the recent Forbes report on “rearranging the world’s billionaires according to wealth and altruism” confirms that individuals who adopt this approach are the most capable of building a lasting financial and humanitarian legacy.

Samer Choucair explained that the lessons learned from global models such as Warren Buffett, MacKenzie Scott, and Reed Hastings are essentially consistent with the values of Zakat and Endowment (Waqf) rooted in Islamic culture. These models clearly intersect with the goals of Vision 2030, which seeks to achieve a sustainable balance between economic growth and social responsibility.

Samer Choucair added that “strategic giving” is the concept that combines achieving financial returns with community development, making it a fundamental pillar for the success of family offices and major investments in the Kingdom and the Gulf region.

Samer Choucair identified four investment paths inspired by these global models that investors in the Saudi market can apply: first, focusing on investment in education and human development as the primary driver of innovation; second, developing “modern investment endowments” that integrate financial return with sustainable social impact; third, adopting Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards, which have become the global benchmark for attracting major capital; and fourth, using giving as a gateway to enhance international partnerships and build bridges of trust with leading global investors.

Commenting on the economic landscape for 2026, Samer Choucair stressed that “investing in Saudi Arabia today represents a historic opportunity, as the Vision provides a business environment that combines global ambition with national values, allowing investors and businessmen an exceptional opportunity to be part of a success story that merges innovation and values.”

Investment pioneer Samer Choucair concluded his remarks by calling on investors and entrepreneurs in the Gulf to re-evaluate their investment strategies, asserting that charity and giving do not diminish wealth but are the beginning of its true impact. He emphasized that the smart investor is the one who realizes early on that true investment is that which solves social problems and contributes to building a prosperous future for coming generations.
