Samer Choucair: Saudi Arabia Is Not Buying Goods but Buying the Future

Investment visionary Samer Choucair affirmed that Saudi Arabia continues cementing its position as a global strategic investment destination capable of providing a stable environment and exceptional growth opportunities for local and international investors, amid economic and geopolitical variables being witnessed by the region.

Choucair’s statements came following data showing the UAE’s international reserves declining during March 2026 by 8.5% to reach $276.7 billion compared to previous levels of $299.4 billion according to data published through Bloomberg’s Ashraq platform. Samer Choucair explained that these developments reflect the importance of adopting long-term investment strategies based on strong economic foundations and institutions capable of efficiently managing regional and international risks, noting Saudi Arabia represents an advanced model in this field thanks to Vision 2030 and the wide-ranging structural economic transformations it produced.

He said: “Genuine investment is not built on impulsiveness or chasing noise, but on discipline, risk control, and seeing the future before others do. This is exactly what Saudi Arabia offers today through its strategic projects supported by the Public Investment Fund.”

Saudi Arabia Remaining the Optimal Choice for Long-Term Investments

Investment strategist Choucair added: “Despite regional challenges that impacted some countries’ reserves, Saudi Arabia remains the optimal choice for long-term investments thanks to Vision 2030 transforming the economy toward genuine diversification in AI, data centers, and renewable energy.”

He noted that reading current economic indicators must not be limited to bare figures, but should be viewed in a broader strategic context, pointing out that declining foreign reserves in some regional economies highlights the importance of building more diversified economic models capable of absorbing shocks. He explained the Saudi economy succeeded during recent years in strengthening its resilience through implementing wide-ranging reform programs, restructuring sovereign investments, empowering the private sector, and creating an environment attractive to global capital.

He affirmed the Kingdom’s operational data center capacity has multiplied six times since Vision 2030’s launch, supported by investments exceeding $4.2 billion, targeting capacity of 1.8 gigawatts by 2030, opening wide horizons for international partnerships and advanced technology investments. He noted Vision 2030 targets raising non-oil sector contributions to 65% of GDP and attracting foreign direct investments exceeding $100 billion annually in strategic sectors.

Saudi Arabia Buying the Future Not Just Goods

Investment innovator Samer Choucair said: “Saudi Arabia is no longer buying goods, but buying the future. The transformation from the oil equation to the trillion-dollar partnership in technology, civilian nuclear energy, and critical minerals opens unprecedented doors for strategic investors.”

He identified the most prominent promising investment sectors as data centers and AI witnessing accelerating expansion supported by massive investments and growing international partnerships; tourism and entertainment as one of the most important new growth drivers given major projects being developed within the Red Sea, Qiddiya, and Roshn ecosystems; renewable energy and green hydrogen where the Kingdom seeks to strengthen its leading global position through massive investments; and real estate and urban development where recent regulatory developments create a more attractive environment for investors.

He stressed that the genuine value of these sectors is not limited to achieving financial returns, but extends to their contribution to building a more diversified, sustainable economy capable of facing future challenges.

Choucair concluded by affirming that the aware investor is one who focuses on long-term economic trends rather than temporary volatility, noting Saudi Arabia today presents an integrated investment model combining institutional stability, clear economic vision, and accelerating growth opportunities in future sectors. He said: “In a world full of volatility, investing in Saudi Arabia is not merely a choice, but a smart strategy for the future.”
