Investment entrepreneur Samer Choucair affirmed that SpaceX’s extraordinary rise during the first days of trading its shares in the US market reflects a fundamental shift in global investor sentiment toward advanced technology, space, and artificial intelligence sectors, noting that these shifts open important investment opportunities for investors in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states.
He explained that the figures circulating about the company’s performance confirm the scale of momentum it achieved following its initial public offering, with SpaceX raising roughly 75 billion dollars in the largest IPO recorded to date, at a price of 135 dollars per share and an initial valuation of roughly 1.77 trillion dollars.
From IPO to Near-Record Valuation
A few days after trading began, the company’s market value rose to roughly 2.6 trillion dollars, briefly surpassing Amazon and approaching Microsoft’s value before experiencing some natural market volatility.
He added that these developments confirm that investors are now assigning high valuations to companies capable of combining innovation with long-term growth, particularly in sectors tied to AI infrastructure, satellite communications, and advanced digital services.
Samer Choucair said: “Amid the global economic trends of 2026, it has become essential for investors to focus on sectors with long-term structural growth potential, led by artificial intelligence, space technologies, and advanced computing. The Kingdom today possesses strong fundamentals to benefit from these shifts thanks to Vision 2030’s targets and economic diversification programs.”
Where the Opportunities Lie
He noted that the available opportunities aren’t limited to direct investment in major global companies, but extend to local and regional companies operating in satellite communications, technical supply chains, robotics, and advanced software, in addition to investment funds specialized in technology and innovation.
He affirmed that the success of companies like SpaceX highlights the importance of investing in knowledge, research and development, and building international partnerships that contribute to technology transfer and strengthening national capabilities, explaining that Saudi Arabia possesses the right environment to become a regional hub for innovation and entrepreneurship in the coming years.
Balancing Ambition With Risk Management
He stressed the importance of balancing ambition with risk management, noting that emerging sectors offer significant growth opportunities but may also experience high levels of volatility, requiring careful analysis and long-term investment strategies.
Samer Choucair concluded by affirming that the period ahead will see growing global competition over future technologies, and that the smart investor is one who keeps pace with these shifts early and benefits from them within a clear vision aligned with the Kingdom’s economic development and digital transformation targets.
